1 Information we collect
Information you provide: When you contact us, subscribe, create an account, complete checkout, or submit a form, we collect the information you provide. This may include your name, email address, billing and shipping address, account details, purchase information, and messages.
Information collected automatically: Our hosting provider and website tools may collect IP addresses, browser and device details, pages visited, referring websites, and dates and times of activity. Account and security tools may record sign-ins and other account events.
2 How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries; create and administer accounts; process purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds; provide course and membership access; fulfill physical mailings; send necessary service messages; send subscribed marketing communications; maintain security; improve the website; and meet applicable legal and record keeping obligations.
3 MemberPress accounts and course purchases
We use MemberPress, a plugin on our WordPress website, to manage purchaser accounts, subscriptions, and access to courses and membership materials, including A Beautiful Life By Design.
When you register or purchase, we process the information needed to establish your account and manage access. Depending on your purchase and our settings, records may include your name, email address, username, account authentication information, addresses, membership level, purchase and subscription status, transaction references, renewal or expiration dates, and cancellation or refund history.
Core MemberPress membership data is stored in our WordPress website database on our hosting provider’s servers. MemberPress is the software used to administer those records; its standard plugin does not require your member account data to be stored in an account on
MemberPress.com, and does not keep any billing information.
Journaling and personal reflections are intended to remain private with the member. The membership does not require you to submit journal entries or personal reflections
We use account and purchase information to authenticate access, display purchased materials, provide support, manage subscriptions, and send operational notices.
Canceling a subscription stops future renewals but does not end paid access early. Account and transaction records are not automatically deleted. Members retain access to all past practices through their paid period; afterward online access ends, while downloaded PDFs may be kept for personal use. For privacy or deletion requests, contact april@aprilgallagher.com. Some records must be retained for accounting, legal, security, or dispute purposes.
4 Payments and billing information
Payments are processed through [actual payment processor names and privacy-policy links- STRIPE]. The payment processor receives the payment details needed to complete your transaction and, if authorized, manage recurring charges.
Our website may retain transaction and subscription identifiers, payment status, and limited payment-method details returned by the processor, such as card brand, last four digits, or expiration date, depending on the integration.
5 Shipping and physical membership benefits
For A Beautiful Life By Design mailings, we use your name, shipping address, and order or membership information to prepare and send monthly stickers and practice cards, handle address changes, and resolve delivery problems.
April currently prepares and mails membership materials herself. She uses information necessary to send mailings through the postal carrier. If a fulfillment provider is used in the future, we will update this policy and provide any legally required notice before the new processing begins. 6 WordPress and website services
The website uses WordPress. Form submissions and account information may be stored in the website database or processed by hosting and plugin providers supporting the relevant feature.
Cookies may maintain sign-in sessions, remember preferences, or support security.
7 Google Analytics and Site Kit
We use Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit for WordPress, to understand website usage and improve our content. Site Kit helps connect Google services and display reports in WordPress.
Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect device and browser information, website interactions, referring pages, and approximate location. This information may be personal information under applicable law.
Google explains its practices at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. Browser and website cookie controls may provide additional choices.
8 Mailchimp and email communications
We use Mailchimp to manage email lists and deliver subscribed communications. When you subscribe, your email address, other submitted details, and subscription-related records are transferred to Mailchimp. Depending on our settings, Mailchimp may collect email delivery, open, and link-click information using tracking technologies.
You can unsubscribe from marketing using the link in a marketing email or by contacting april@aprilgallagher.com. Essential membership communications may continue where needed to provide your purchase. Unsubscribing from emails does not cancel a paid subscription.
Limited suppression records may be retained to honor an unsubscribe request. Mailchimp privacy information is available at https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/.
9 Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our providers may use cookies or similar technologies for account authentication, security, preferences, and analytics.
You can manage cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may prevent sign-in, checkout, or course features from working. Browser controls may not prevent every form of collection.
10 Disclosures and service providers
We disclose information to providers that support hosting, payments, email delivery, analytics, security, backups, and shipping, as described above. Authorized personnel or contractors may access information as needed to administer these services.
We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, investigate misuse, or protect safety. Public contributions, if enabled, are visible to others.
11 Retention
We keep only information reasonably necessary to provide membership, manage payments, fulfill mailings, address support requests, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete or appropriately anonymize it. Cancellation does not require immediate deletion of financial or other legally necessary records.
Backup copies may remain until replaced or deleted through routine processes. Limited suppression records may remain to prevent unwanted marketing.
12 Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If a breach occurs, we assess it and provide notices to affected people and authorities when required by law.
13 International processing
Providers may process or store information in the United States and other countries with different privacy laws. Where required, we use applicable safeguards for international transfers.
14 Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; or opt out of certain uses or disclosures.
Contact april@aprilgallagher.com to make a request. We may verify your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by law. We respond within applicable legal deadlines.
Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing. You may have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Where European or UK data protection law applies, the legal basis depends on the activity: providing purchased services or taking requested precontract steps; consent where required; legal obligations; or legitimate interests such as security and responding to inquiries, subject to applicable requirements.
15 Children
The website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and act appropriately.
16 Links and embedded content
Links and embedded content, such as videos or social posts, may involve other providers that collect information or use cookies according to their own policies. Review those policies before interacting with their services.
